INGREDIENTS
The Pegu Club is a refreshing combination of gin, orange liqueur, lime juice and aromatic bitters. Often referred to as gin’s answer to the Daiquiri and Margarita, the Pegu Club cocktail dates back to the early 20th century and was first mentioned in the 1930 “Savoy Cocktail Book,” in which Harry Craddock credits the drink to the Pegu Club in Burma (Myanmar today).
The Pegu Club is a citrus-forward delight, marrying zesty citrusy notes with the botanical complexity of gin and orange liqueur. Bitters add depth, while the garnish of a lime wedge offers a tantalizing aroma, creating a balanced and refreshing sip.
Gin, Orange Liqueur, Sugar, Natural Acidifiers and Stabilisers, Aromatic Bitters, Potassium Sorbate.
FAQs
Of course! Traditionally, a lime wedge or wheel is a simple choice for garnishing a Pegu Club, but there are may other garnishes you can use! Lately, bars are dehydrating their citrus garnishes to preserve them, and reduce waste - you can do this at home by placing thinly-cut citrus wheels in parchment paper and baking them at 170°F / 75°C until they completely dry out. Please feel free to play around with your garnishes, and create your own style!
